Teaching not only supports learners to access mathematics as a discipline that reflects rigor and generalizability; but also empowers learners, in particular students who are systematically disadvantaged, to participate in mathematics meaningfully.

Teaching Philosophy

After ten years of secondary mathematics teaching and five years of college-level teaching, providing culturally responsive mathematics pedagogy while creating equitable learning environments for students remains my primary teaching goal. 

Impact:

Lili was a caring instructor who wanted us to succeed, not only in the course but also in our future teaching profession. In class, she facilitated discussions that feel open and safe for all students to share their thoughts and opinions. (Fall 2020 EDCI 425 Student Evaluation, Purdue University)
